Laker Basketball Host Marshalltown Tigers

Estherville, Iowa – Wednesday, December 12, 2018

NJCAA Division I opponent, Marshalltown Tigers, will travel to Estherville to face the 17th ranked Lakers on Wednesday, December 12th.  Tip off for the men's game will be at 7:30 PM.  The Lakers are currently 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the ICCAC. 

Last season the Lakers fell to the Tigers at Marshalltown 74-84.  Solomon Clayton led all Lakers with 18 points and Jacob Rau scored 11 points while shooting 9-10 from the free throw line.  "Our games against Marshalltown are always competitive. I am excited to host a good college team in front of our home crowd," said Coach Troy Larson.

The Lakers defeated the Ellsworth Panthers, 79-69, last Saturday for their second conference win.  The Lakers shot the ball well from the floor converting 61.7% of their field goal attempts.  This efficiency is indicative of how well the Lakers have shot the basketball this season.  The Lakers are ranked 1st in the nation in field goal percentage (53.4%).

Three Lakers scored in double digits against the Panthers.  Equan Ards scored 12 points.  Solomon Clayton scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Kevin Jennings led the Lakers in scoring with 30 points and shot 9 for 10 from the free throw line.
