Iowa Lakes Community College Head Coach, Katie Larson, announced the signing of Taylor Beane to the 2018-2019 recruiting class. Taylor is the daughter of Mike and Angie Beane and played for the West Central Valley High School Wildcats.
"We are excited that Taylor decided to continue her softball career at Iowa Lakes," commented Larson. "Taylor comes from a small school that works hard. Her love for the game oozes out of her every time she takes the field."
A utility player, Taylor is a four-year varsity letter winner for softball. In her junior season, she batted .515 with 45 hits, including 16 doubles, 4 triples, and 3 homeruns. She batted in 22 runs and had an on-base percentage of .529. She completed the season with a .956 fielding percentage, including 68 assists and 35 putouts. She has been awarded Honorable Mention in her eighth grade through senior years of softball.
Taylor has been very involved throughout her entire high school career. She is a three-year letter winner in basketball, two-year letter winner in volleyball, and one-year letter winner in track. Taylor is also a member of her school's Student Council and National Honor Society. She has been on the "A" Honor Roll all four years of high school.
Larson also had this to say about Taylor, "Taylor is a very athletic and strong kid. She will have no problem being successful on the field because of her work ethic. Taylor wants to learn and improve her skills because settling for less than her best is not an option for her. She is also an amazing young lady off the field. Taylor's work ethic and desire to be perfect extends in the classroom and in everyday life. She will be a great role-model to the youth in the community. We are thrilled that Taylor chose to be a Laker and we cannot wait for her to be in the blue and gold uniform next year!"
