LAKER DANCE TEAM TAKES THIRD AT STATE COMPETITION

Dancers from across the state took the floor at Wells Fargo Arena for the country's largest high school dance team competition. The Lakers competed against 6 Iowa Community Colleges securing a third-place finish in the Community College Pom division as well as the Community College Hip Hop division. The Iowa High School and College State Dance Team Championships featured 25 college teams and 251 high school teams. Organized by the Iowa State Dance Team Association (ISDTA) and boasting more than 650 routines. The competition took place in Wells Fargo Arena, Hy-Vee Hall and the Community Choice Convention Center.

Second year member and Estherville native, Lilli Nitchals has this to say,

"Being able to step onto that floor and dance one last time at Wells is truly a dream come true; it's the greatest wish I could ever ask for. To share that moment with such an incredible team makes it all the more meaningful and unforgettable."

Established in 1976, the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association advocates for the sports of dance, drill team and color guard, for all. As a valued leader in the sport of dance, ISDTA cultivates student growth in the art and athleticism of dance.
