Coach Trey Totheroh comes to Iowa Lakes Community College following a four-year playing career at Cornell College under head coach Dave Schlabaugh. During his time at Cornell, Totheroh helped lead the program to a Conference Championship in 2022 and a Conference Runner-Up finish in 2023. He was a two-time Ram Pride Award winner and a member of the winningest senior class in school history. Totheroh graduated from Cornell with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
Prior to Cornell, Totheroh grew up in Milford, Illinois, where he was raised as the son of a coach. In 2018, he was a State Champion and a two-time All-State selection. As a standout for the Bearcats basketball program, Trey finished his high school career as the program’s all-time assists leader with 434 assists, while also totaling over 500 rebounds and 850 points. During his senior season, he earned numerous honors, including IBCA 1A All-State Team recognition, First Team All-Vermilion Valley Conference, All-Iroquois County Team, First Team All-Kankakee Daily Journal, and Second Team All-The News-Gazette.
In 2024, Coach Totheroh served as a camp instructor at Snow Valley Basketball Schools, working alongside Don Showalter and Coach Schlabaugh with numerous NBA, Division I, II, III, and college preparatory school coaches.
In 2025, he worked as a camp director for We Are Basketball Camps, leading camps on 11 different Air Force bases across 10 states nationwide.
Totheroh is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Coaching & Education from Ohio University.
