HIGH SCHOOL (2021): A true utility player, Halsband was a five-year letter winner for the Indians. In her senior campaign, she posted a .214 batting average with five doubles and five homeruns. For her efforts, Halsband has been awarded Academic All-Conference every year, All-Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore, and First Team All-Conference junior year. In addition to softball, Halsband has found a ton of success at Clarke Community High School. She is a three-year letter winner in volleyball, where she has been awarded Academic All-Conference three years, All-Conference Honorable Mention senior year, and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union All-Academic three years. On the basketball court, Halsband has earned four varsity letters. She has been named Academic All-Conference four years, All-Conference Honorable Mention two years, and IGHSAU All-Academic four years. Halsband also led her team in most points scored both junior and senior year and led her team in rebounds in her junior season. Additionally, Halsband is a four-year letter winner in track. She was named All-Conference Honorable Mention one time, Athlete of the Week one time, All-Conference Academic three times, and IGHSAU All-Academic three times.

PERSONAL: Kaitlyn is the daughter of Annie Halsband and has a sister named Dana Halsband. Kaitlyn's favorite food is hamburgers and color is turquoise. She loves the show Golden Girls and movie Blind Side. When Kaitlyn is not playing softball, you can find her boating and listening to the song "This Girl is on Fire" by Alicia Keys. Kaitlyn's nickname is Katydid and the most interesting place she has visited is Yosemite National Park. Her dream job is to become a Sports Dietitian.
