Iowa Lakes Community College softball player Bryn Bohmann was awarded her first National Junior College Athletic Association Player of the Week award and her second Iowa Community College Athletic Association Player of the Week award of the season. This was awarded to her based on her performance between March 14th-20th when the Lakers went 7-3.
Bohmann had this to say, "I am grateful to receive this award. It came after a good week in Florida which continued on when playing against Iowa Central. Seeing our team compete against some good competition made me excited for what is to come. I cannot thank everyone enough for continuing to support me."
During the week, Bohmann was 19-33 giving her a .576 batting average. She recorded seven homeruns during the week and currently leads the NJCAA in homeruns on the season with ten. Bohmann drove in seventeen of her teammates while coming around to score seventeen times of her own. She currently holds a .591 batting average (8th in NJCAA), a .661 on-base percentage (8th in NJCAA), and a 1.386 slugging percentage (1st in NJCAA) on the season. She has 26 hits on the year with five doubles and ten homeruns. Bohmann is currently on a twelve-game hitting streak for the Lakers and looks to continue this in their upcoming games.
"I am very proud of Bryn for receiving her second ICCAC Player of the Week award. She has put in the work this off-season and it is great to see her hard work recognized. I am excited to see what she can continue to do this season," commented Coach King.
