Bohmann Commits to Goldey-Beacom College

Iowa Lakes Softball player, Bryn Bohmann, has recently signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Goldey-Beacom College. She will be studying Psychology at the institution located in Wilmington, Delaware.

Bohmann had this to say about choosing Goldey-Beacom, "I am looking forward to my next adventure. My next school has an atmosphere much like Iowa Lakes, small and family oriented. I chose Goldey-Beacom College because of the coaching staff and how welcoming everyone has been there."

Bohmann is the daughter of Darren and Lynette Bohmann. She is from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, where she graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School.

In her first year as a Laker, Bohmann was a key player to the Lakers success. She was selected to the ICCAC All-Region 1st team because of her .460 batting average. That average saw 52 hits in 113 at bats, including 12 doubles and 17 homeruns. She racked up a .530 on-base percentage and a 1.018 slugging percentage. She drove in 59 of her teammates, while scoring 48 times herself. Bohmann and the team got ranked as high as #17 in the NJCCA national poll. Additionally, Bohmann was selected as a two-time ICCAC Player of the Week and one time NJCAA Player of the Week. She did all of this on a shortened season, due to an injury.

Bohmann was just as successful in the classroom as she was on the field. She maintained a 4.0 GPA for three semesters. She was awarded Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar athlete, ICCAC Academic All-Region 1st Team, and NJCAA Academic All-American 1st Team. Her and the team compiled a 3.58 team GPA, which was 9th highest in all junior colleges in the country for divisions 1-3.

Coach King had this to say about Bohmann, "Bryn is a special type of kid. She has a passion for this sport and exudes that when she plays. You rarely see her without a smile on her face when she is on the diamond. This paired with her athletic abilities make her an excellent leader. Bryn is always willing to do what is best for the team and is a true difference maker. I think this shined through last season when she tore her ACL. Instead of sitting the rest of the season, she rehabbed and was able to play the final week of the season. There is no quit in that young lady and this will make her very successful in life. Goldey-Beacom is getting a good athlete, but an even better person. She will truly be missed here at Iowa Lakes."

"My time at Iowa Lakes was better than I could have ever imagined," commented Bohmann. "I am grateful to have been a part of such a welcoming community. This place has become home, and the people have become family. It is going to be a tough place to leave."
