Sophomores Alyssa Schorg and Leah Becker competed in the Waterloo Intercollegiate hosted by Hawkeye Community College. The competitive field featured JUCO, NCAA DIII, and NAIA programs. Simpson College (330) won the team portion by 1 stroke over Briar Cliff University(331). Izzy McNaughton (Briar Cliff) and Addison Brink (Simpson) shared the individual lead with impressive rounds of 79. Alyssa Schorg led the Lakers with a 94 (+22) and finished T-33rd. Leah Becker ended her day with a 97, earning T-37th. 

"We're focused on improving each day to ensure we are at our best for the district event. We weren't thrilled about the results and would have liked to play better, but the main focus is on improving each day. We've had a slow start to the year, and the progress hasn't yet shown up on the scorecard, but I'm pleased with how we are trending," said Coach Myers. "I feel confident about the upcoming events and our ability to compete as we close out the year."
