The Lakers finished their regular season at the NIACC-hosted Highland Park Golf Course. DMACC took home 1st place with a round of 325. NIACC earned 2nd place, finishing 9 strokes behind the lead. Meghan DeLong (NIACC) narrowly won the event after posting 78. Iowa Central's Syeda Laiba Shah earned 2nd with 79, and DMACC's Haley Loonan finished in 3rd with a round of 80. Leah Becker tied her personal low (84) to notch a T-9th place. Madilyn Arp-Cornell's 119 finished in 25th place.
"I was happy to see Leah's game come together. She's been grinding all spring and got off to a slow start. As competitors, we'd love to play our best every time we compete, but that's not how it works. Leah knows what she's capable of and continues to work hard in hopes of peaking at districts. It was Madilyn's first tournament of the spring, and she didn't have any expectations. She was focused on enjoying the round and making the most of it," said Coach Myers. "Leah's in a great spot heading into districts. I'm excited to see how it plays out."
