Iowa Lakes Community College is excited to host Takedown Hunger Night, a special community event that pairs nationally ranked wrestling with an effort to support local families in need. This event features both the men's and women's wrestling teams in marquee matchups against nationally ranked rival Iowa Central.

 The night promises elite competition:

• The Iowa Central women enter the dual ranked #2 in the nation.
• The Iowa Lakes women come in ranked #11.
• On the men's side, Iowa Central holds the #3 national ranking, while Iowa Lakes stands at #10.

 Fans attending the duals on November 12^th at Laker Gymnasium will receive free admission with a donation of a non-perishable food item. All collected items will be donated to the UDMO Emmet County Food Pantry.

"Anytime you get four ranked teams in one gym, the energy is incredible. Pairing that with a food drive gives our athletes a purpose beyond the mat, and that's what makes this night special," said Men's Head Coach Corey Meyer. "Great wrestling. Great cause. That's what Takedown Hunger Night is all about." Said Women's Head Coach Corey Muniz.

Recommended donation items include Ramen noodles, Peanut Butter (both creamy and crunchy), Jelly (both grape and strawberry), Spaghetti Sauce, Hamburger Helper, Canned Fruit, Canned Vegetables, Shampoo, Body Wash, Deodorant, Toilet paper, Paper towels, or Toothpaste. If anyone wants to make a monetary donation to the Food Pantry, they are more than welcome to. Checks can be made out to UDMO Emmet County Food Pantry.
