Two Lakers Earn NJCAA All-American Honors

Iowa Lakes Community College women's soccer standouts Amelie Prie and Holly Poole have earned NJCAA All-American honors following exceptional performances during the 2025–26 season.

Sophomore defender Amelie Prie was named NJCAA Third Team All-American after anchoring the Lakers' back line throughout the season. A native of Herschbach, Germany, Prie appeared in 17 matches, earning 16 starts, and played a pivotal role in Iowa Lakes' defensive success in conference and postseason play. In addition to her defensive contributions, she recorded five goals and two assists for 12 points, consistently impacting the game on both ends of the field.

"I am amazed by Amelie Prie. Well-deserved Third Team All-American," said Head Coach Mukwa Ogitchida. "Whether it is holding me accountable to team culture, watching our next opponent's film twice before anyone else gets through it once, sliding up on corner kicks to score another header, intimidating attackers with her defensive work, or even cooking for her teammates, Amelie has always been an example of work ethic. It will be this same work ethic that will power her at her next stop, and some lucky school will get to know her soon. Amelie has set a new standard for all Iowa Lakes players to reach for."

Freshman goalkeeper Holly Poole earned NJCAA Second Team All-American honors following a historic debut season. A native of Kingscliff, Australia, Poole started all 20 matches in goal, logging 1,840 minutes, and finished the season with a 12-4-2 record, a 0.83 goals-against average, and 93 saves. She recorded 11 shutouts, led the Lakers to their first National Tournament appearance, and earned five ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors, including three consecutive selections.

"It is so great to see Holly Poole receive the honor of Second Team All-American," Ogitchida said. "After five Athlete of the Week awards and leading the team to its first national tournament, this recognition is well deserved. Holly has embraced the role of captain and understands that her success is tied to the team's success. With her leadership and mentality, I have no doubt we will return to nationals. In my book, Holly is the best JUCO goalkeeper in the country, and I know she will work even harder to prove that in her second year."

The All-American selections of Prie and Poole mark another significant milestone for Iowa Lakes women's soccer and underscore the continued growth and national recognition of the program.
