Moving along at Morningside- Womens

This weekend the Lakers traveled down to Sioux City to compete against the Morningside Mustangs! 

Starting the meet off was Freshman Roberto Suarez dropping one full minute in his 1000 Freestyle, now sitting at a 10:48.86. Freshman Josey Saxton plugged in a time for the 50 free and the 100 Breast. Freshman twins Coral and Aspen Rork had great finishes in the 100 freestyle. Freshman Emma Graff pulled off a 1 second drop in the 100 breaststroke now sitting at a 1:14.97, the girls then competed in the 200 freestyle realy and ended with a time of 2:05.98.

Freshman Jochem Lemmens held strong in the 200 IM having a tight race with a Mustang and finishing with a 2:07.50. The girls competed against Southwest Minnesota State University and Morningside but put up a good fight earning some point with some great finishes!

Freshman Suarez, Freshman Ethan Heideyer and sophomores Lucas Neuvonen and Grant Bumsted all contributed points when fighting for first place during the 100 freestyle. Heideyer finishing first with a 47.18, then Bumsted with a 51.27,Suarez with a 52.51 and Neuvonen finishing with a 57.06.

The boys finished the meet with a strong 200 free relay earning second place with a 1:32.88.

 Overall lots of fun and laughs were had! And overall a great meet. Your Lakers Swim team competes in Fort Dodge, November 8th against Iowa Cnetral and Loras.
