Midseason Mania

This weekend, your Laker Swimming and Diving rallied in a three day meet, The Warrior Invite. They traveled down to Fremont, Nebraska and took on Midland University, Nebraksa- Kearney, College of Saint Mary and Iowa Western to see where we stood in the midseason. 

The Warrior invite is a prelims and finals meet, these means swimmers will swim in the morning to qualify to swim in the afternoon. Thursday held these events, the 500 free, the 200 IM and the 50 Free.

Freshman Aspen Rork, Coral Rork and Josey Saxton competed in the 50 free and all recieved best times! Aspen went in with a  30.86, prelims she dropped to a 29.83, finals she ended witha  29.71 which is a personal best! Coral Rork went in with a time of 33.08, prelims dropped to a 30.42 and ended finals with a 29.79 which is her personal Best! Josey Saxton aslo dropped time from a 33.64 to a 32.81! 

Freshman Emma graff competed in the Womens 1M Springboard diving event with 6 dives, she ended the competition with a score of 150.40 earning herself a new School record! The women finished off day 1 with the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:27.90.

Friday was a whole new set of events which included the 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast and the 100 Back. Coral Rork competed in the 200 free setting a new personal best of 2:35.46. Saxton and Graff competed in the 100 Breaststroke. Saxton coming awway with a best time! Starting off with a 1:39.40, Saxton dropped time in the prelims to a 1:38.37 and then dropped time again in the Finals to a 1:36.64! Graff went in with a 1:16.35, dropped in prelims to a 1:14.07 and then ended finals with a 1:13.14. Aspen Rork competed in the 100 Back, starting off in prelims with a 1:27.94 and dropping time in finals with a 1:26.13! 

all 4 girls competed in the 100 Free on Saturday. Graff dropping time from a 1:01.27 to a 1:00.52. Coral Rork dropping from a 1:07.87 to a 1:07.24. Aspen Rork Dropping from 1:13.19 to a 1:12.30. And Josey Saxton dropping from 1:18.53 to a 1:15.23!

Overall, massive time drops for the Lakers! Resulting in some new National qualifying times and better seeding for the National Meet! 

The Lakers get to enjoy a little break over Christmas and the New year then come back to compete in the Norse Sprint Invite in January!
