September 9, 2025 | Estherville, Iowa – The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball team hosted Central Community College on Tuesday night at Laker Gymnasium, falling in straight sets to the Raiders. The Lakers dropped the match by scores of 11-25, 23-25, and 8-25.
After a tough opening set, Iowa Lakes responded with a strong effort in the second, pushing Central point for point before falling just short. The Raiders regained control in the third to close out the match.
Defensively, the Lakers were led by libero Lorin Turkdogan and outside hitter Lily Kunselman, who each tallied 14 digs to keep rallies alive and extend plays throughout the match.
"We competed hard in that second set and showed what we're capable of," Head Coach Menzies said. "Now we need to find ways to bring that consistency across an entire match."
The Lakers move to 3-6 on the season. Iowa Lakes will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 11, when they travel to Southeast Community College for a 5 p.m. match.
