September 26, 2025 | Norfolk, Nebraska Norfolk, Neb. – The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Northeast Community College on Wednesday night, falling 18-25, 15-25, 20-25. Despite the loss, the Lakers had strong individual performances from freshman opposite hitter Madison Conrad and sophomore defensive standout Lorin Turkdogan.
Conrad turned in one of the most efficient offensive performances of the night, finishing with seven kills on 20 swings while hitting .350. She also contributed three blocks to spark the Lakers at the net.
Turkdogan anchored the backcourt with a match-high 18 digs, showcasing her defensive consistency and keeping the Lakers competitive in extended rallies.
Additional contributions came from Brooke White, who tallied seven kills and 10 digs, and Kajsa Bates, who added four kills and seven points.
"We're seeing a lot of growth from our group," said Head Coach Taylor Menzies. "Madison continues to step up as a freshman opposite, and Lorin's defensive energy kept us fighting throughout the match. These are the types of efforts that will help us turn the corner."
With the loss, Iowa Lakes moves to 6-12 overall. The Lakers return home on Tuesday, September 30, to host Hawkeye Community College in Estherville. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
