Estherville, Iowa (October 1, 2025) – The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball team defended their home court on Tuesday night, taking down Hawkeye Community College in four sets. After dropping the opener, the Lakers stormed back to win 15-25, 25-23, 25-18, and 25-23.
The Laker offense was led by Brooke White, who tallied 12 kills and 16 digs for a double-double. Kajsa Bates added 11 kills on an efficient .385 hitting percentage and a team-high 3 blocks, while Saharia White contributed 8 kills and 2 blocks in the victory.
Setter Jaliyah McGee kept the offense in rhythm with a match-high 38 assists and chipped in 20 digs. Defensively, libero Lorin Turkdogan anchored the back row with 19 digs, while Lily Kunselman also reached double figures with 10 digs.
"This was a total team win," said Head Coach Menzies. "Different players stepped into different roles tonight, and that versatility really helped us push through the tight sets and come out on top."
With the win, Iowa Lakes improves their season record to 7-14 and gains momentum heading into their next conference match at Kirkwood Community College on Thursday, October 2.
