April 17, 2026 | Estherville, Iowa – Iowa Lakes Community College Volleyball proudly announces that Kajsa Bates, a middle blocker, and Lorin Turkdogan, a libero, have signed to continue their academic and volleyball careers at four-year institutions. Bates will attend Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, while Turkdogan will continue her career at Salem University in Salem, West Virginia.
Bates made a strong impact on the Lakers' program with her presence at the net and ability to contribute on both sides of the ball. Her consistency, physicality, and leadership played a key role in the team's success throughout her career at Iowa Lakes.
Turkdogan was a cornerstone of the Lakers' defense, bringing energy, reliability, and a high level of competitiveness to the back row. Her ability to control the court and lead defensively made her an essential part of the Lakers' lineup.
"It's been a privilege to coach Kajsa and Lorin." said Head Coach Menzies. "They've grown so much as players and people, and they've left a lasting impact on our program. I can't wait to see them succeed at their next schools."
Both Bates and Turkdogan excelled academically and were proud representatives of Iowa Lakes off the court. Their signings mark an important milestone in their volleyball journeys and reflect their dedication to growth as student-athletes.
Iowa Lakes Volleyball congratulates Kajsa, Lorin, and their families on this exciting achievement and looks forward to following their success at the next level.
