Iowa Lakes Women's Wrestling Recap vs. Hawkeye CC

The Iowa Lakes women's wrestling team battled Hawkeye Community College in a competitive dual that featured several bonus-point matches and strong individual performances across the lineup.

Iowa Lakes got off to a strong start at 103 pounds, as Aroura Preston set the tone with an impressive technical fall (14–4, 5:35) over Marissa Besin, putting the Lakers on the board early.

After Hawkeye responded with wins at 110, 117, 124, and 131 pounds, Iowa Lakes answered back at 138 pounds when Michelle Ramirez secured a 10–0 technical fall (2:25) against Shannon Dolan, showing solid control and pace.

One of the closest matches of the dual came at 145 pounds, where Nina Aceves pushed Hawkeye's Meya Roberts to the limit but ultimately dropped a narrow 6–5 decision.

In the upper weights, Iowa Lakes delivered a highlight moment at 180 pounds. Keyahna Phillips needed just 43 seconds to earn a fall over Jenna Small, providing a momentum boost and showcasing finishing ability.

Despite Hawkeye picking up falls at 160 and 207 pounds and a decision at 235, Iowa Lakes remained aggressive throughout the dual, collecting bonus points in multiple matches and gaining valuable experience against a strong conference opponent.
