The Lakers completed their final midweek conference series against Northeast yesterday. In game one on April 22 in Norfolk, the Lakers came out swinging scoring 4 runs in the first inning, setting the pace for the rest of the game. The Lakers came out on top in game one, 15-10. Leading the Lakers was sophomore Johnny Marcos with 3 hits (homerun) and 4 RBIs and Spencer Kober with 3 hits (2 doubles) and 2 RBIs. Sophomores Blake Evans, 2hits (2 homeruns) and 3 RBIs, Jace Embry, 2 hits (2 doubles) and 1 RBI, Boyd Jones 2 hits (double) and 1 RBI, and freshmen Ayden Wells, 2 hits and 3 RBIs, Grant Dusatko had 2 hits, and Kobe Peterson added a hit as well. Getting the start for the Lakers was freshman Cole McKinney, throwing 3.0 innings, allowing 7 hits, 6 runs (6 earned runs), 5 walks and 4 strikeouts. Freshman Garrett Norick threw 2.2 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs (2 earned runs), 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Earning the save for the Lakers was freshman Joas Mercedes, throwing 1.1 innings, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs (2 earned runs), a walk and 2 strikeouts.
In game two, the Lakers had 10 hits but fell short. Leading the Lakers was sophomore Spencer Kober with 2 hits (double) and 2 RBIs. Freshman Eliezer Rolon-Cruz had a double and 2 RBIs, sophomore Blake Evans also had a double. Freshman Grant Dusatko and sophomore Ty Martin both had a hit and RBI apiece.
In game three, the Lakers scored 7 runs on 10 hits, falling short 7-13. Leading the Lakers' offense was freshman Ayden Wells with 3 hits (2 doubles) and 2 RBIs. Sophomores Jace Embry and Blake Evans both had 2 hits and Evans had 2 RBIs. Getting the start for the Lakers was freshman Cole McKinney, throwing 4.2 innings, allowing 6 hits, 7 runs (4 earned runs), 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Sophomore Reggie York went 2.1 innings, allowing 3 hits 1 run (1 earned run), 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Freshman Joas Mercedes went 2.0 innings, allowing 6 hits, 5 runs (2 earned runs), 2 walks and a strikeout.
