The Iowa Lakes men's soccer team is headed to the national tournament after winning the NJCAA Men's Division 1 Midwest conference championship. This will be back to back trips to the national tournament for the Lakers.

The Lakers are seeded 5 and will play against the 9 seed  Western Texas College, and the 4 seed host, Tyler Junior College.

With the Lakers having the experience of last years national tournament, Coach Ben MacRae is looking to make an impact at the tournament this year, "Every single week I feel like we have gotten better. Our guys have all bought into the culture and style of play we are looking to do. I feel very really good about all the players we are taking with us."

MacRae will be looking for some key players to have a big impact. Logan Roach has scored 8 goals and assisted on 3 this season. Leonardo Seixas has had 8 goals and 6 assists. Sofian Maghouz has had 9 goals and 11 assists. Sophomore forward Jason Dyer will also be a key contributor.

The national tournament will take place at the Pat Hartley Complex  in Tyler, Texas. Group play for Iowa Lakes will begin Tuesday, November 16th at 5:30 pm and Wednesday, November 17th  at 5:30 pm. One team from each group will continue to the next round.
