Spencer, Iowa — The #7-ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer team delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over #3 Northeast on Wednesday afternoon, advancing to the Region XI Final.

After a scoreless first half, the Lakers exploded in the second with four goals to secure one of the program's most impressive postseason wins.

Sophomore forward Sharif Nata N'tcha led the charge with a hat trick, continuing his incredible run of form. Jago Rafii provided two key assists to Sharif, while Sam Storey added a highlight-reel strike from distance off an Emmanuel Benazra assist to give Iowa Lakes a 3-0 advantage.

Northeast pulled one back midway through the second half, but the Lakers quickly responded as Jose Velasquez set up Sharif for his third goal — a breakaway finish that sealed the 4-1 win.

Iowa Lakes dominated offensively, with an impressive 17 Shots during the match, and all four Laker goals came in the second half as the team displayed composure, creativity, and intensity on both ends of the field.

With the win, the Lakers advance to the Region XI Final, where they will host Southeastern Community College on Sunday, November 2nd in Spencer. The winner will move on to the District Championship to face the Region VI champion on Saturday, November 8th.
